WAVERLY MAIN STREET HOSTS PUBLIC MEETINGS

TO CREATE A VISION & MASTER PLAN

Waverly Main Street invites the community to participate in its master planning to revitalize the Waverly Commercial District on Greenmount Avenue between 28th and 35th Streets. Waverly Main Street has engaged a planning and design team led by Mahan Rykiel Associates to create its Master Plan which will build upon the many projects and initiatives already underway.

The public is invited to two sessions to be held at Grace Restoration Life, 428 Merryman Lane, Baltimore, MD 21218. Free parking is available in the Waverly Farmers Market parking lot.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 6:30 p.m., a community meeting will collect broad public input of its perceptions of Waverly Commercial District's assets and liabilities and strategies for its revitalization.

On Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 6:30 p.m., The Mahan Rykiel Team will present its market overview and recommendations for economic development strategies, physical enhancements, façade enhancements, "opportunity sites," and community brand and marketing.

Waverly Main Street's mission is to expand the growth of the Waverly commercial district through economic development, commercial building  and streetscape improvements. It partners with stakeholders to solidify and further enhance the diversity and historic character of Waverly. It strives to make the district an attractive "walk-able" destination and to attract customers from the six adjoining neighborhoods where residents, JHU students and employees of local institutions will choose to walk to the Greenmount Avenue business corridor for their retail, services, and dining needs.
